The Wellbeing Survey is a quick, simple way for children and young people to evaluate their care using the Scottish Government's Getting it right for every child
wellbeing indicators. Participants rate how they see themselves in each area using a sliding scale. In addition they are invited to answer eight questions relating to each of the well-being indicators.
Getting it right for every child
The survey is for looked-after children and young people living in Scotland.
The survey produces an instant report with a graphical representation of the participant's answers. Feedback based on the slider inputs is provided. If an email address was provided, a pdf version of the report will be sent for saving/printing.
Ask the child or young person to navigate to ethicaldata.co.uk/wellbeing on any internet-connected computer, mobile phone, or tablet. They should fill in their name, and the email address for the report to be sent to. They then move the sliders to answer each of the eight main questions. Every slider must be moved. The yellow buttons give information to help to answer the eight optional questions. When they click 'SUBMIT', the report will be generated. Within a few minutes you will receive an email with the report attached.
The report should be used as a reference point for discussion between the young person and their carer, social worker, or other responsible adult. It may give some direction to the work required with the young person. The survey should be seen as the beginning of a piece of work rather than a completed task.
